this is the biggest problem I have with the republican party.. why do people want to make the country more economically polarized? at this rate, we're going to end up with two extremes: very wealthy and very poor.. and nobody in between.. :(

people don't want unions because they believe unions have become too powerful and that it ends up destroying companies.. some unions might be a little too powerful, but getting rid of unions entirely is not a good solution! if we did that, we'd see a huge increase in employee abuse..

Unions take a position of adversity with companies and are a division between the worker and the company. Unions need to work closer with management and actually understand the challenges that companies are facing. If they truly partner, as they should they can be a positive link between management and the worker and stop driving the wedge between them.
As long as companies are fair and consist ant in the way they handle policies employees are satisfied, "FAIR' pay for "FAIR" work.
Employees typically hold a dedication and allegiance to the hand that feeds them and when a union interrupts this balance it is a difficult situation to be in. The tabloids show scary details as to how unions drive out manufacturing, truth or not it is a perception. Look at the stats UAW membership continually drops, why? With the laws on employment standards health and safety human rights etc is the union necessary? Why pay money to a third entity? What do they do for the employees? Every three years or so they go on strike for a minimal increase and the money they lose on strike is never recouped over the life of the contract. Strife within the unions is prevalent, they can't agree to agree on some core values that unions once stood for.People need to work.Change the doctrine of the union and start to provide a value to the employees and to the company.

What is your question? Minimum wage hasn't risen in most places in over 10 years, despite inlation pushing up 7% per annum in each of those years, and most people in this country can't get a CD for more that 5% p.a. Is there a problem here? You better believe it! That's why I show people more intelligent ways of making money... there is a major problem in the way we'd all been doing it before.
