Good idea! They say that one reason for the animosity is that more members of Congress don't stay in DC as much as they used to. So they don't have the opportunities to engage in bipartisan socializing. A small gesture like this could break the ice. I think you should promote this -- have your friends write their reps on their dot gov sites. Of course, if they took up your suggestion, you'd never get credit, the oldest fart in the House would.
