Make some popcorn and watch a movie.
Make game called savager hunt. Have a list of things they have to find in the house. Who evers wins give them the chance to pick out the movie to watch.

The scavenger hunt idea is ingenious... it tricked me many a time when I was little. But if it's night time and you can't have them picking thru all the house's contents, bring art supplies and make pictures, cards, etc.
Once, with my boyfriend & his son -- we made tons of art and put on a "gallery show" for people who came over. You can have their art displayed for the parents when they come home-- they loooove that kind of stuff too. Good luck! If all else fails, take a few advils and tough it out!

When that happens to me, I just pull out movies and board games. Or hide and seek works well, if you play the kind where you don't have to run to base! You get lots of rest time there, haha. But if you have to back out, just find a replacement before calling their parents. They'll be more likely to call you back if you're responsible like that.

Get them some movies and order them some pizza. Let them know you aren't feeling well too. Kids are smarter than you think. They may back off a little or try to help you out.

if your not feeling well the most responsible thing you could do is call the family and cancel. you dont want to make the children ill - i wouldnt be happy if my child caught a cold or another illness from anyone else and it could have been prevented.
even if it isnt contagious you arent in a fit state to look after children if your not well.
