Really depends on how much you have budgeted. All the others have good suggestion, but let me add one more. Go to the sports shop at the mall, buy a Dodgers hat and jersey. On the day of his birthday, take a nice long bath while your husband is at work, get yourself made up and looking fine. Put his birthday card on the door that he comes in everyday, with a note inside, telling him that his present is in the bedroom. When he opens the door, you will have on the hat and jersey with nothing else on, lying on the bed. He will be so excited, it will be the best gift ever. Good luck.

Sharper Image has a lot of gadgets that not everyone has. One of our best gifts was a pair of binoculars with a built in digital camera. They are light weight, portable and great for sporting events, concerts and travel. How about a ride in a hot air balloon? Or how about a helicopter ride? A lot of people have never done that before and it is kind of cool? Guys seem to most impressed with gadgets and adventure so maybe something on that order would be nice.

well give him an experiance instead:
guys love mystery. well that and sex.. so start it off with a little bit of a mysterious feeling to it....
Send him an invitation - a card not email - that invites him to meet you at some upscale hotel on such a date and time. Then... do your homework!!! get a hotel that has like a honeymoon suite or someting that has like a hottub in the room.. then get there a few hours before him and prep!!!!!
have various assorted sexy outfits in the closet.. have the bed turned down... order dinner to be delivered soon after he arrives... have on some very sexy yet almost revealing outfit to wear while you are sharing dinner.. then.... do a nice slow strip tease for him and have your first round of "fun"... then take a dip into the hottub for a bit.. have some more "fun" in there... then get out and change into a different out fit and have more "fun"... order up dessert (some strawberrrys and chocolate) have it delivered... answer the door in your next outfit (don't cover up for the hotel staff) then invite him to have desert off your body...... I'm sure you will will find a couple more sessions of fun before the sun comes up.... wake up before him.. shower.. but on your next outfit and give him a nice wakup by climbing on top and riding him... then order breakfast while jumping into the shower with him.. then enjoy the nice breakfast together and recount the night before
If you really want to spice it up.. set up a camcorder on a trypod to capture all the moments!

Something off the World Vision Gift Catalogue. Get him a share in a well that will provide water for people, or an animal that will provide food. We have used this for gifts in the past and people really appreciate that you have done something good for someone else in their name. (My husband's parents donated a goat to a needy family in our name for our wedding present - we loved it.)

Tickets! I have the same problem with my father, and no matter what you get, he either doesn't like it or already has it. Tickets to a game, or a show or an event. You know what he is into, so get him a chance to DO something he hasn't done yet, or somethng to do he would like but hasn't thought of.

Something hand made and original that he doesn't have, because it'll be so "one-of-a-kind".
I would suggest making him a scrap book of all your memories; with words, magazine cut outs, pictures, etc. Be creative and let your love control the way it turns out! It would be great.

Make him something. Wether its a homemade cake or just a homemade card. If he has everything more than likely its going to be VERY difficult trying to find osmething. So, dont find anything, creat something.
