Windows 98. Stay far away from ME, there are way too many problems associated with it.

Both are antiquated; crippled by today's standards. With that said, ME is a disaster. One of the worst operating systems Microsoft ever came up with. If you're going to use a Windows 9.x based system (95, 98, ME), stay away from ME.

Both operating systems are basically obsolete. Windows XP is much more stable.

ME is fine... I had it for years and never had a problem with it.. as them being operating systems they are pretty much the same... either one would probably be fine for you. I would stay updated however and look into getting XP

Just the computer without a lot of programs or viruses on it? ME. It really varies depending on how much memory of your computer is in use.
