What exactly does "metaphysics/metaphysical" mean?

Please give an example or draw from everyday life how it should be properly used. (And yes, I've Googled, Wikipedia'd and tried the dictionary, but I still don't quite comprehend, hope someone can help). And please, creativity in examples are encouraged. Have fun!

Literally, beyond the physical realm, beyond that which we can realize or discover with our five senses. Cosmology and ontology are examples.
