Youths are considered to be immature and easily influenced as a group. If one person has an idea that could be potetnialy dangerous the idea spreads and everyone thinks together not as an individual. Youths seem to rather fit in than to be indidviual. Bad ideas could and can be acted apon faster in a group of youths than adults.

Some people do, some don't. I actually get on much better with youth than with people of my own age, as many of them are quite boring.
I find young people inspiring, refreshing and stimulating. But there are of course also those youth who have bad or no manners and do behave in an aggressive way. I feel not threatened by them, but I know people who do.
It is not necessary and the generations should respect each other and live in peace, harmony and positive exchange with each other.

I never used to. But I do now. In my area, large gangs vandalise, intimidate and generally get away with what they wish.

I am 6'5 and 28 years old and would not challenge them. The last time i did, it was in a bar where a group of "youths" were harrasing a lone girl of a similar age. Telling the lead youth to watch his manners led to around seven of his mates threatening me with bottles. What saved my neck was the fact that I was drinking with with an equal number of friends. Later on that night, my car got vandalised by the aforementioned oiks.

Not all kids are bad, that is a stupid, ill-informed generalisation. But what you do have are these ignorant, cowardly watses of oxygen. They are why kids get a bad name.

whilst out shopping with my two teens, I chided one of them for something, and an old lady glared at me and said, "some people forget that they were young once" I nearly fell over with shock, an old lady telling me off for chiding one of my teens.
I think that she has a point. many older people forget that they were young once, and forget the things that they themselves used to do.
However, what we did when we were younger [I'm not yet 40] is not what the kids today do. Yes, we would hang about in groups and chat, and we even shared bottles of cider. But what we did not do, was terrorise the elderly and vulnerable, we did not break windows, threaten people, cause nuisance [ by this I mean shouting and swearing in the street until all hours of the night]. We moved on if people asked us to if we were being too loud.

People get scared of groups of teens because of previous bad experiences with groups, ignorance, bad press. The size of the group makes people more scared, the more in a group, the louder the chatter and the more intimidating they seem.

I know that not all teens are bad, and yet they seem to get tarred with the same brush as all the others. My own two are not angels, but they have been brought up to respect themselves and others. I have always said to them, " think about what you are doing when you are out, think, would you want this happening outside your house? would you want your parents/family putting up with what you are doing? do not do outside other peoples house's what you would not like done outside yours!!"
" do not give grief to other people that you would not like your family to suffer".

if your by your self and then you see a gathering of 10 or more people it can get intimidating and some youths that rob and stab people don't set a good impression for the rest of us youths and when you hear all these things and your a frail elderly person that can barley walk you would be worried.

i am 16 and where we are youths hang around in groups and they normally do not course any tubal, i think people fear them because of the image the press normally gives them, i admit that some are very nasty and some do horrid things but for the rest that just have fun get put down because every one thinks there the bad once.

I am elderly but do not feel threatened at any time by a group of youths.

Probably because people realize that many youths - unlike many adults - aren't able to weigh the consequences of their actions (due to lack of experience) and are probably more likely to commit anti-social acts because of that ignorance.

Old people are threatened by youths because youths so often treat them badly, watch out for old men in green hats, they may strike without warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!
