I heard it once or twice but never caught who sang it but thught it was lovely, think its an old soul song

james carr definatly sang (the dark end of the street) recorded 1967 onstateside ss 2001 writtenby (c.moman/d.penn)also avalible on the essential james carr cd (razor and tie music)as you say this abeautiful record (could give you his life story quite fasanating)

ok i have searched for it and there is four songs called the dark end of the street now here are the names of the artists: the commitments, percy sledge, flying burrito brothers and gram parsons, eva cassidy i hope this comes of some help to u

the bright side of the road was done by van morrison .if that helps never heard of the dark end of the street
