There is no absolute answer as each decision varies according to what it is about. A decision about abortion is very personal and I'm sure my opinion would not be shared by you. A decision about whether to go on a cruise would welcome other people's opinions if they've been there themselves.
Of course, in the abortion eg., talking to someone who's done it or passed may help but in that instance the advisor would just be pushing their own point of view.

I do not agree. Some decisions are very personal and need to be dealt with as such. Friends and family can offer alot of support but sometimes you are better off alone. People are often biased, the only person you can really trust is yourself, so always follow your heart, and your heart is your own.

A person should always make important decisions on there own. That way you have no one to blame but your self. exmpl. You have to choose to move for a good job or stay close to family and friends. You ask a handful of people "what should I do?" They love you and don't want to tell you you should go. Even if thats whats best for you. You will always blame them. For lack of money not being happy ect.

First you need to give us specific examples of what you consider "important". Is choosing your religion important? Is selecting a Job important? Is buying a car important? How do you qualify something as being "important"?

Disagree. A person should make decision for himself/herself and take full responsibility for their action. If it the out come is good, great, if it is poor, than you have no one to blame but yourself.
Sometime the best teacher is have the person get hurt, then they will learn. Sorry to say this, but "We just don't wanna listen"

No, I don't agree. You may gain information and receive informed opinions from others, but in the end, the decision and responsibility rests upon your shoulders.

i think it is ok to make important decisions on your own....just really think things through though...i have lived alone now for awhile and sometimes there is no one to help you anyway....and if you have someone that really cares about you and your problems then talk it over with them....to reassure your self...it is nice to think that there is someone to share decisions with though....but it is not always possible anymore...
