compare the difficulty of this test to that of the SAT? Just looking for your personal opinon.

The GMAT is computer based and so it's a different testing style compared to the SAT which is paper based. If you answer a question correctly on the GMAT, the next question gets a bit harder, if you answer it incorrectly, the next question gets a little bit easier and once you answer, you cannot go back.

In addition to neenee's comments, the GMAT's verbal section is not about vocabulary, but rather about (business) logic and grammar. The math part has some unusual answering techniques that requires some practice.
The two essays are not too important, but as long as you follow the instructions, you will do fine.
