I want to buy a motorola bluetooth phone. My carrier (Alltel) does not offer the style of phone that I want.

Is an unlocked phone reliable?

Do I need to purchase extra accessories to make the phone work with my carrier?

thanks

there are phones only work with one company ..so if you put a sim card of another company it won't work ....that means it's locked....but if you want the phone to be yours you unlock it
to make it work with all companies.........lol

some cell telephones are designed to apply a particular Subscriber id Module (SIM) card that shops subscriber files. it truly is issued by skill of a provider and delivers cellular service by skill of activating any telephone into which it really is inserted. If a telephone is operating only with a particular provider, then it really is a locked telephone. An unlocked cellular telephone is a handset which will be used with better than one service service, making it outfitted to a consumer to change from one provider to a unique. so that you'll % any provider of your selection together with your unlocked telephone.

I don't know, but I think that I would call several of the cell phone companies and ask them, If they all say the same thing, then you will know that they are telling the truth.
