If you are filing yourself, don't put any address....put UNKNOWN in the box. I did and it worked just as good.

Depending on the state in which you have filed for the divorce, these documents can be mailed to the person's address - it is not a matter of him/her "answering the papers." Check your state website for the appropriate filing and action on serving the papers to your spouse.

Contact your lawyer, and tell him the problem. He may suggest a person who can serve the papers. I wouldn't mail them to her work address. If someone serves them on her, which may cost you a little money, than at least you have done the right thing legally. You can than proceed with the divorce.

I would say you can put the last known address down on the actual divorce papers and indicate last known-present residence unknown. However, for serving purposes for the sheriff dept....her work address is appropriate and any time frames or special info you can give them as to when the best time is to catch her they really appreciate and will save you money from too many failed attempts to serve her. Good luck!

It all depends on where you live, different states have different laws, but I see no reason, why you can't. The best way would be to have her served at work, then you know that she got the papers. Otherwise, the only other recourse is to put an ad in the local newspaper. Good luck

Put unknown, let the court find her by her DL# or her license plate#, list her employment address separately. Even if she doesn't answer the summons, the court will find her in contempt and issue another...then after so many the court could take her into custody if they desire or penalize her by paying your court costs or something like that.

My divorce papers were served to my ex husband at his job. If you don't know where she lives then you can't help that. Don't worry your lawyer or the process server will find her
