Black jeans are the worst about fading.
Get 2 boxes of black RIT dye & follow the directions for dyeing in the washing machine. Run a bleach cycle afterwards and the washing machine comes out clean.
Next pair of black jeans:
When it comes to washing black (or dark) cotton items at home, use a cup of vinegar the first time you wash a new article. The vinegar helps set the dye. If that sounds unappealing, you can use WOOLITE Dark Laundry Fabric Wash which is specially formulated to minimize the fading of colors and maintain color intensity. Also, always use cold water with your dark items.

re-dying them IS a good idea, I understand about favourite pairs of clothes. I have had a pair of knickers since I was 14 and they are still going (thought I wouldn't say going strong) I wear then to feel warm and comfy, they have stretched all out of shape (but then again so have I since it was 14; I am 26 now) They are so faded and have a few small holes in and I keep saying, "I will throw them out...but I will wear them one last time"They always end up back in the wash and in the underwear drawer, so don't throw them aways make them last because they love you as much as you love them (maybe)

Yes. I always dye my faded stuff back to black again. It makes them like new! I buy a dye from Wilkinsons in the UK its a top brand and costs about 4quid. You put it all in the washing machine with some salt (instructions on the packet) and Bobs your uncle, jobs a guddun! AND it doesnt stain your washer at all. Well worth it in my opinion.

You can get a dye from Asda and Wilkinson that you use in the washing machine, that works well. Next time, use a colour safe washing powder. The majority have a bleach, which has damaged your jeans.

Re-dying is no good as they go patchy, get some new ones but wash them on a low heat cycle and use wahsing powder for coloured clothes, they keep the colour longer.

Hi!
Yeah! It's well worth dying them. They'll come up like new!
Then, every time you wash them, make sure you turn them inside out and the colour will last longer!
Hope this helps!!

You should try a detergent that's specially for black clothes and always wash them inside out to stop the fading. And there's also a colour refesher for faded clothes, but I'm sorry I can't remember the brand name.

Re-dye them and when you wash them in future, turn them inside out before you put them in the washer - the colour lasts longer
