From the moment of conception and in the womb, all fetuses are essentially female. In fact, female is the default setting (if you will) for humans prior to birth. Men have nipples because (by default) they start off as females, who obviously have nipples to nurse their young. Also, the male's penis is structurally just an enlarged clitoris, and vice-versa.
Many humans are born hermaphrodites (possessing qualities of both genders). Often times, the doctor delivering a child will make surgical alterations right away to ensure that the hermaphrodite will be one gender or the other. In fact, the actress Jamie Lee Curtis was born a male (her birth certificate states her name as Lee Curtis). However, it was decided by her parents that she would live life as a female.

Good question...This is only a guess. I suppose it's because we are all closer genetically the we all think. I believe that the sex of a baby is not decided right off the bat. I think it can go either way for a while. Maybe that has something to do with it. I will look forward seeing the other answers.

Because someday soon, women will get the last laugh... We're going to evolve so that men have the babies and have to stay at home and subject themselves to soap operas and Oprah. When they're done lactating, they'll have a period, and then we'll look at them and say, "I don't trust anything that can bleed for five days and not die!" Hey, you never said it had to be serious...
I think God likes symetry, personally. It would be weird if we had them but Men just had blank space on their chests...

Men and women are mammals (from the Latin mamma breast) a species that have breasts and feeds its young with milk. The human embryo has tissue that will evolve into breasts. Both male and female babies are born with nipples and ducts intact. It is the presence of genes that direct hormones to differentiate the breast tissue. The Y chromosome stimulates hormones such as testosterone to form male features.

cuz all embryos frist start off as girls, and then some turn into boys but the embryo is already developed nipples before the sex change occurs. The bigger your nipples the more of a girl you are.

Men and women are the same everywhere else except the anatomical structure of reproductive organs. Also, hormones abundant in one gender determine the behaviour of that gender.

Because we are all built from the same female template until the Y chromosome is added for the male.
