Interesting question are you doing a survey as a Psychology student? I am taking Psy. right now. My preference is a really dark room and in the country there are no street lights. So, yes a really dark room.

I've slept in dark rooms for so long that when I end up in one with a light on - it wakes me up and I have a really difficult time going back to sleep. Years ago I worked a 'graveyard shift' and had a really difficult time sleeping when it's daylight outside. For me - the darker the better.

I like to sleep in the dark. I lived with a guy for 3 years and he *had* to have the light on. It did my head in totally.
Also, I can't sleep well when there's a TV in the room, even when it's off. And I find it hard to sleep if I leave my computer on overnight, even though it's in the room next door...

I have to have a pitch black room and even if some light comes under the door crack I have to put a blanket there to block it out. I guess its because I used to work on ships where there weren t any windows or gaps under the doors.
