Hostel is about 3 American guys off to Europe on a vacation, I believe in the Czech Republic. They are smoking pot, partying, and hanging out with (what they consider hot Euro chicks).
They befriend a guy that shows them pics of really hot girls in engaging sexual situations. He tells the 3 Americans that he can "hook them up" with these babes.
After meeting them and clubbing and drinking, one girl takes one of the Americans to the hostel. The hostel is place where if torturing and killing people is your "thing", you can do it here. He is killed in a very brutal, torturous, Quentin Tarantino way (very bloody and extremely gory).
His two buddies set out to find their friend. The girls lead them to the hostel where they see people getting killed and tortured. One escapes, narrowly I might add, and finds that there is one main guy behind the orchestration of this "hotel of death". He finds that Americans get the most money for being brought to the hostel.
He eventually escapes and has the uncanny luck of exacting revenge on all of those (from the "friend", to the girls, to the main orchestrator of the death hotel) before leaving for home.

Yes, the movie is directed by Eli Roth! He is known for the movie "Cabin Fever" which is totally wicked! In Hostel, it explains the story of two friends backpacking through Europe who find themselves in the middle of a "buy a human to torture and kill" nightmare. In the beginning it's all soft-core porn but towards the middle and end the gore and blood scenes pick up. Paxton and his friend are set up by the people in a small Czech Republic town of Bratislava. Soon, they find out that the locals are all in on a deadly secret. They sell foreigners to crazy millionaires and the people can do whatever they want to them! This is Eli's best film yet! The crazy part of everything is that Eli got the idea to do this movie from an actual Thailand website where you can pay to torture people.

What I can remember is the film was based on was rich sickos paying to torture people, that the girls had entisted into the hostel. There was different prices they had to pay according to what race they wanted. I did see this movie a long time ago so I probably have missed alot of details out.

It boils down to people going out and kidnapping a different ethnicity--for each ethnicity there is a price tag attached--and they are killed in a very brutal way and people sit there and watch them die. The moral of the story is, stay in your country and you won't get hurt. I thought it was extremely gruesome and I bet it happens everyday all the time, that is what makes me sick to my stomach.
