If I remember correctly you twist the legs and tie an elastic band very tight in different areas and then bleach but don't do it across the leg try to get them diagonal and different on both legs , also body section do the same . Don't make the bleach too strong or the denims will disappear. Did this years ago hope it helps.

I did this by accident once. All I did was throw them in an upright washer that had water and bleach in it. I didn't twist the legs or anything. Wherever they were folded the color was different. I'm pretty sure I left them in for a few hours.

Hey when you get finished with that, take them outside to the clothesline, hang , then get out a pump shotgun, and shoot the legs.....really cool look!

Why would you want to have tie dyed jeans? Or for that matter anything tie dyed. It is just tacky.
