Who cares what other people think. If you go through your life always worrying about what others think, your not going to be able to do what you like. If you like swimming and being on the water polo team than go for it and scrap what others say. Swimming is great. I do a one hour work out at a swim club...it's great!

You are right- most black men choose not to do that, but hey, if that is what you like to do, why worry about what others think about you? just have fun and enjoy being you because in the end, that is all who will be in your corner anyways! (besides some family of course)

me personally- if the man who is in the water looks nice- it really doesnt matter what race he is!

Also hey- black people dont jump out of planes or bungee jump either- doesnt mean that there arent a few of them who wont go try it now does it? Once you have tired something, you can at least say you are willing to open your eyes top new experiences!

Why worry so much about being cool? The thing which will actually make you coolist, if it really matters to you, is just being who you are. When you are yourself you exude a aura of self confidence as you are not trying to be somebody your not. When a person attempts to be somebody they are not, they come off as fake and shallow and that is just as far from cool as a person picking his nose in public.

The best way to be cool is be yourself and do those things you enjoy and do well. A cool person will have confidence and you gain confidence by just being who you are and working on things you enjoy doing. A person is cool who treats others decently, who is respectful and treats others with dignity. Being cool is an old term, these days it is more about having a solid sense of self. I have eight grown kids, well, young grown kids, and they have all been through the stage of "Am I cool enough?". They learned that the coolest thing for them to do is just be themselves. That being themselves draws more people than faking being somebody else or agonizing over whether or not they are cool.

It is cool for you to stand out from the crowd, to do what you enjoy regardless of who else does it or does not do it. It is cool to show others your gifts, skills, and special God given talents without fear of rejection or being lauged at. Those who watch you be yourself and show no fear for doing what you enjoy will look up to you and respect you. If you stopped doing something you enjoy others will view you as weak and will lose respect for you. That is not cool at all having others lose respect for you.

Just be yourself, and do what you enjoy doing. That is cool, and it is showing leadership skills too, which is also cool.

Playing water polo takes talent, speed, and determination. Sounds like there are a lot of ignorant people who have odd ideas on what is cool and what isn't. I think its cool no matter what your race is, we live in the 21st century, You gotta be who you are, and not what other people think you should be...Good for you for not following the crowd, be your own person and you will always be cool.

Race doesn't matter..do what you like when you like..who cares what other people think. I know I don't!.. Actually, I got to say this..to hell with people and their close-mindedness. If you want to swim then go ahead..forget what others think, after all its YOUR life. Live by your rules and I'm sure lots of girls find you very "cool"..just as long as you are doing your thing without being tensed about what the world thinks.

Nah...I don't think it makes you less cool! I think it's great that you are doing what you like to do. Who really cares what other people think about you anyways...does it really matter?! Swimming is awesome. And it's great exersize. At least you're not being lazy. If you're friends don't like the fact that you're a swimmer...then don't discuss the subject with them. I say stick with it if it's something you enjoy! =)

Well people might look down on you on that (ignorant people) cause they have a concept that black brothers are supposed to be thugged out gangstas. But it's cool. Do your thing. Remember it's what you like, not anyone else

i think you should continue doin what you're doing cuz just cuz no other black people are in it dozent mean its not cool, and it dosent make you less cool especially if you're real good at it.
