I want to buy a die cast Voltron for my husband for his birthday since he always talks about the die cast Voltron that he used to own, and about how much he misses it. The only problem is, there are a bunch of different versions of Voltron out there. Can anybody please help me identify which is the correct Voltron? I know I could ask my husband, but I don't want to ruin the surprise. He was born in 1975, so the correct version should have been released sometime in the early 1980s. I think it might be Voltron I or III by Matchbox, but am not sure. All I know is that it was die cast. Help please! Thank you!

chances are he's not talking about the voltron with the cars.. that one was pretty rare.. he's probably talking about the original voltron with the lions.. there are five lions (the black one is a lot bigger than the others).. some of the voltrons were made of plastic and others were made with metal.. the metal ones were more expensive, but a lot nicer quality..

You defiantly want to get the Toynami master piece edition but everyone is correct in their cost its pricey item. If you want to avoid the EBay you can buy it from one of amazons dealers or even on Yahoo shops which really are going to have really shop for. I put the toynami link to the Voltron master piece edition also they list some resellers links that sell the product as well but I would say 100+ is price.

The Correct Voltron to my knowledge is the Five Lions: blue, yellow, red, green, and Black. Blue and yellow were legs, red and green were arms and the Black one formed the body and head, with the Face being inside the Jaw of the black Lions mouth
