move your mouse around the screen (that is your desktop) right click anywhere on the screen but not on an icon ,go to properties and bingo by jingo you can do it there

It isn't a blonde thing, it's Windows illogic at work. They call it a desktop, but then call pictures on it 'wallpaper.' Go figure. They mean right click anywhere on the screen above the task bar but not in an open window, then select properties and click the desktop tab.
When you're tired of Windows making your life difficult, check out a Mac. They're easier to use and much more secure.

ok do it this way
click the start button ,then the control panal icon,then the display icon then the word desk top.
you will see background ,here you can change your back ground picture. if you click on appearance you can do a lot more if you click the word advanced.

ur desk top is the big empty space when u start window. the bigest bit of the screen where there is a picture or whatever it is on the screen! think that is the best way to describe it

yes, click on start, then control panel, then display, then background, and then click on the one that you want to change your wallpaper too.
