Can you please name great composers, after the 1920's, who are not so dissonant, whose music is in the classical harmonic style of Beethoven and Brahms. My previous question along these lines did not give enough detail for you to be able to give the answer I am seeking.

I'm sure many more will come to mind later when I'm trying to sleep, but one name that comes to mind is John Williams. Imagine his music without movies... sure you hear it and think Star Wars or Raiders or Saving Private Ryan. A lot of his movie scores, not just the themes, stand on their own. But even without all of the movie scores he's done, he's also done other classical works where you can definitely hear the influence of 18th and 19th century masters.
