Manga. Alot of anime is licensed way too early. Fullmetal Alchemist, for example, was licensed too early. Only the first half is based on the manga and written by the mangaka. The rest of the anime was written by her story editor. So, the ending Hirumu Arakawa was building towards is not in the anime and the anime changed character quite a bit around episode 25.

The Bleach anime starts a 20+ episode filler bevause they caught up with the manga storyline.

This trend is why so many animes start good and end crappy.

Manga, mainly because the anime is almost all of the time based on a manga, but the bad thing is that they leave some stuff out, and don't show everything, while in the manga there are extra stuff in there plus it actually ends at some point.

Most of the anime ends halfway. Like Inuyasha.

I sometimes like Anime but the stories are (lets face it) a bit twisted, but I do prefer manga comics a little better though.

Anime. Manga is really nice for portable entertainment, but Anime is something you don't have to read and you actually hear the character's voices (wether or not you want to e.g. Naruto lol.)

I prefer anime because I can get free fansubbed episodes while with the manga, I still have to pay mega bucks to get it.

It really depends on your personal preference.

Anime--more fast-paced, has sound, easier to visualize things.

Manga--portable, classic, often more intricate than anime.

I recommend both reading and watching.
