No thanks, I just ate.

Seriously... if the outbreak is that bad, you probably want to call a vet and see what he recommends. Keep the cat out of the house. If you get fleas in the house they will probably have to fumagate the place.

Just because you shampoo your cat with flea shampoo doesn't mean the job is done. (Boy, that must have been a treat)
Anyway, make sure that you do all of your linens, carpet, and upholtery. You may want to wash your clothes too. It depends how bad the fleas were. They get into everything and they multiply so fast. Don't forget to do the upholstery and carpet in your car, regardless if the cat was in there or not. Once you get fleas like that, YOU can carry them around too. It's expensive and time consuming. Keep the cat in the house and make sure you put a flea collar on it. If you have other animals in the house they need to be shampooed too. You've got to treat fleas like lice. Everything needs to be washed, sprayed and disinfected. It may take more than one or two times so prepare yourself for it.

Get some flea drops from your vet. NOT from Walmart!

They work great. They go on the back of the cats neck and enter into the bloodstream. When a flea bites the cat, they die. It works for 30 days and should be applied monthly.

Try advantage it works really well. You can buy it on line and have it sent to you. That way it doesn't cost as much as going to a vet. Fleas are dirty but what's worst for humans are animals parasites. So don't be kissing your cat in the mouth.

Give your cat garlic, sprinkle some in the food or pop a garlic pill on the back of their tongue and have your cat swallow it. Fleas and mosquitoes dont like garlic at all. The pills can be picked up at the Dollar Store. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats it works.

go to a vet or pet store and buy frontline for cats. you also might want to take her to a vet or petstore and get it a flea dip. you put frontline on once a month and i have found that works the best. if they come in contact with humans you will probably get lots of bites

i recall a time where my room was flea infested...and i didn't own a pet! i went to home depot and bought a thing that plugs into your socket and makes a high pitch noise that humans doesn't hear but the fleas do. in a day, the biting has stopped! works like a charm.

No thanks, got my fair share :) Seriously though, best thing is either Advantage or Frontline. Shampoos don't work. Need to do lots of vacuuming also, maybe pick up some spray for the areas the cat sleeps and such. Cheapest I've found is on this site:

Take them to the vet and ask them what should you do also I would suggest a flea collar and vacuum your rugs really good.

FRONTLINE OR ADVANTAGE. THE FLEAS WON'T GET ON YOU AND LIVE, ALTHOUGH THEY CAN LIVE IN THE CARPET AND BITE YOU.
