It's just going to end up with two young girls who are eager to show it off in some way, shape, or form, and next thing you know, you'll have teenage boys to worry about. You don't want to be a grandma too soon now do you? They can wait to get their navels pierced. Tell them to get their minds off the piercings, and their faces in the school books.

The belly button piercing is the one that takes the longest to heal. The art of piercing the belly button has come a long way over the last 10 years. When I first started seeing them at my novelty shop, the kids had no idea what size they were pierced with, no one told them how to clean it, most of them had keloids, and they were always red and sore.
If properly taken care of, a belly button piercing can do well. Please do not use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on the piercing. You are better off using seasalts, or piercing solution. You can also use neosporin.
If you decide to let her get it, be sure she is taking care of it daily. Don't let her start changing it for at least 6 weeks.
When you find a piercer, ask them all the pros and cons of a belly piercing. Ask them about their experience. If you do not feel comfortable with the answers, keep looking for a piercer.
Personally, I hate belly button piercings. Too much scarring I have seen. Later in life, if she decides to have children...she will have to take it out. She won't want to have it pierced, she will be hiding her stretch marks.

It's too early. Piercing, while trendy, requires vastly more care, attention, and responsiblity than picking out a new pair of jeans. 13 or 14 is not an age where they're ready for that kind of responsiblity...there's too much else going on in life.
Not to mention, states are getting stricter on the age requirements to have piercings done. Most states nowadays won't allow anybody under 18 to get a piercing with or without a parent's consent or even presence. If that's the case in your state and the shop will do it anyway, I'd definitely not trust their ethics and piercings...they're just in it for the money.

Absolutely not.
Let them wait until they are adults. If they still want a piercing, they can get one then. What you like at 13 is not necessarily what you like at 18 or 25.
By the way, a piercing involves a lot of maintenance initially. I don't think they are old enough to take care of them properly without getting an infection.

No way. All my friends have waited until they were 16-18 to get them pierced. 13 and 14 is too young.

Let them decide if they still want them after they've turned 18. I know most places in my area won't do it even with a parent or guardian's permission. They're too young at 13 or 14 to be sure they actually want it. As a parent, I wouldn't recommend you take them to get it done.

WAY to young! The belly button piercing is too sexy for that age. Instead of allowing them to get that, let them get their ears pierced again or in the cartilage of the ear. (The top part). That way they still get a new piercing, and you don't have to deal with the fact that they are trying to be sexy way to young!

If they want to get their belly button pierced then that means they want to show it off. Which in turn means low rise pants and shorter shirts. I believe this will cause unwanted attention for a teenage girl. You have to ask yourself if you would want to see another teenage girl with that. Then ask yourself if you want men to look at your girls in a sexual way.
