stop drinking a lot. are you TRYING to get pregnate? cause if you are, perhaps you should detox your body first so that your cells aren't pickled. How you treat your body, even prior to pregnacy, can affect your potential baby! Keep in mind that from the moment of conception, your baby is getting it's nourishment from your body, it's not like you eat and it bypasses your stomach to theirs....your blood, your fluids, your cells all interact. So if your blood is toxic and your cells are toxic, those toxins are going to infect your baby. Think long and hard about that. I don't want to sound like I'm preaching...but really, do you want to get pregnate while you're drunk? - that alcohol will be in those cells right at the start. Some natural health professionals stress detox and getting the diet right for the man AND the woman for a year before getting pregnate - the man is 1/2 the equation so it stands to reason that his cells should be healthy too!

As for why you don't get your period anymore...who knows, the pill may have messed up your hormone balance. That can happen. I stopped because it threw me into premature menopause. I had to do 3 excruciating months of hormone therepy to get back on track again.

My advice to you, tho, is if you are serious about wanting to get pregnate...get your body healthy first, quit drinking, do a detox, eat healthy, get some exercise....then maybe it will happen.

This is why I hate to see women take BCPs !!!! Sometimes the BC is forever!!! I dearly hope this is not the case dear.
Do you exercise a lot??? Is your body fat ratio very low ????
These are all things that can effect getting pregnant. Also are you monitoring for ovulation? If not get a kit at farmacia!!! And have sex no more than 48hours apart so your mate can build up sperm count! But most of all call a gyn who specializes in fertility!!! Go see him asap. Best wishes, I hope you get a baby (2 or 3 !!!) . I have prayed to get pregnant, but I dont think it will happen, the reasons are complicated, but I hope you get your baby!!!

There are several things that could be causing your inability to get pregnant, And it is a difficult question to answer without knowing more about your medical history, but certainly your drinking is not helping. Many of the hormones required to begin and maintain pregnany are processed by your liver.
In addition, alcohol is a potent teratogen (causes bith defects). You should not be drinking at all if you plan to conceive. You need to make a choice if you want a child more than you want to drink.
If you are interested in getting pregnant, I recommend a check-up to evaluate your overall health and fittness to become pregnant. Your Dr. can also check the hormone levels (and your liver0.

It's the drinking. You are drinking so much that you aren't even ovulating anymore which is why you aren't having periods.

You need to stop drinking. Completely. I mean, what if you got pergnant AND you were drinking? Did you really convince yourself that IF you got pregnant, that you would be able to stop? Come on. You need to get help. It's affecting your life and if you can't stop to get pregnant in 3 years, you are an alcoholic. People who aren't alcoholics would never question their drinking. You know you have a problem. And you don't have to drink anymore.

I don't think your alcohol intake affects your fertility, but if you are trying to get pregnant, please cut down your drinking! You can do your baby a lot of harm before you even realize you're pregnant.
If you're not getting a period every month, you may not be ovulating every month so that decreases your chances.
I would recommend getting a basal body thermometer and starting to track your temperature every morning. (You take it first thing, before you even get out of bed.) The temperature climbs ever so slightly before ovulation. The ovulation test kits are good too but since you're irregular it gets expensive to be using those a lot. Learn about any other body changes as you ovulate (e.g. increased and more slippery vaginal secretions).
It also helps to be the right weight. (If you're too skinny that can cause your periods to stop and if you're overweight that can interfere with fertility.)
Since you're 29 and you've been trying for a year (?) it may be time to consult a doctor.
It may also be worth it to consult a homeopath or naturopath. In my homeopathic practice, I have successfully treated a woman for (secondary) infertility; she wasn't getting periods.
Good luck to you.

probably because of your irregular periods, this is often related to infertility. the birth control pills cannot fix this problem, only manage it. once off the pills your regular cycle takes over and difficulty with conception. sounds like it is probably good you are not pregnant considering how much you drink as alcohol exposure during pregnancy is a leading cause of mental retardation-not to mention how many lifes and families alcoholism destroys. good luck to you and especially any child you may bring into this alcoholic lifestyle.
