Got to jail for 1 year or have your best friend go to jail for 5 years?

Since, at the moment, probably the best friend I have is the maintenance man in my apartment complex, whose name is Larry, or maybe John, he can do the 5 years.

I would definitely rather have my friend go.
Unless it was for a crime that I committed and he had nothing to do with. I don't think I would let a friend go to jail in my place.

I'd go to jail... other than the possibility of being beat up or raped, really, can it be so bad? It's like an all expense paid vacation. You can work out, read, enjoy some solitairy confinement if you work hard enough...

I'll do the year LA County style (actual time about 1-2 months). I'll save the money on attorney's fees for a fat party when I get released.
