This is not meant as a racist remark, but a genuine observation, as it causes a big fuss every time anyone makes any kind of comment on Muslims/Islam.

& held 2gether with a huge dose of plain old-fashioned Stalling.
Ex-foreign Secretary Straw's attracting attention with some out-spoken remarks 2day.
we have no choice but 2 sit & watch the sparks fly in the UK.
c how/if it settles.
Weren't we told we were invading Afghanistan 2 save women from oppression & those hideous Burkas?
What's the point of saving them, if they intend wear Black Burkas here in the UK?
Were we misinformed or is it just time 2 say enough is enough.

You may not percieve your question as being racisit but I think it is. The West, I do not know which West you refer to but I take it you mean America and Europe, are not falling over themselves to appease anyone. Have you noticed the wars going on?
I am not a Muslim but belong to the Human Race. It is a big club, made up of many different culures, faiths, ethnic groups etc. The biggest club in the world. I really do not know what big fuss you are referring to? As a person living in the West, a non muslim at that, I have not had to appease anyone lately?
We should really try to raise the bar on this type of discussion as it does nothing to bring people together in peace and understanding.

Unfortunately I have to agree. I think it has to do with the west (generally) tolerant climate - to worship whichever religion one chooses without fear of persecution and to have a decent level of free speech. These things do not appear to exist in most strict Muslim countries. Not following Islam is seriously frowned upon and converting from Islam to Christianity is an automatic death sentence. Muslims tend to react in violent ways at the slightest perceived slur on their religion where other religions merely voice their disapproval in purely vocal terms. I believe the tendency to appease Muslims is a result of their violence and should be strongly resisted. By all means allow them free speech to voice their concerns but as soon as the (inevitable) violence occurs it should be stamped on without hesitation.

Because the leaders are afraid that something like 9/11 will happen in their countries or that they'll be accused of being intolerant.
And meantime the terrorists keep getting stronger and stronger and stronger.

Personally, I don't give a rats 'you know what' if a Muslim gets angry or says something- or even if they get upset about something I say [but I always choose my words wisely]. It's when they cross the line and make a move to kill my fellow citizens or family. Then I will defend my country, my family and myself to the death if necessary.

Good point.
All of Europe is frightened to death of the Muslims. There are enough Muslims in Europe to burn it to the ground.
And even Bush, tried to appease Muslims for awhile, playing the diplomat card. Muslims will not be appeased.
And the Democrats have already surrendered to them.

the world is now too politicaly correct.
a muslim complains when someone wears a crucifix saying it is offensive.
i find burkas, the robes they wear, offensive and if i say so im a racist, but the person wearing the cross has to remove it.
would i be allowed to build a church in iraq as they have built mosques in london, i think not.

Because they over react and kill people. When the pope said some thing they didn't like they killed a nun. and burned and killed and threw a baby fit. So everyone gives in to them to keep them from killing people. So the rest of us have to walk on egg shells to keep from hurting their little feelings. While they burn images of the pope in the streets and show horrible naked pictures of jesus doing all manner of things. Very one sided.
