I saw the new 3 series coupe and totally in love with it. I am planning to get one, but as usual, the options are way too expensive. So my plan is go get one with only Steptonic for option. Then I'll go install CD changer and Navigation from other places. Is it a good plan or not? Would it screw up the look of the dashboard? Cause electronical problems?

It is not such a great idea to do any of that. If you lease you are just wasting money installing all the stuff and voiding the warranty wether it's a lease or purchase. Aftermarket procducts will also not fit nicely in the dash. I absolutley love the 2007 also. I have a 2005 now and it is fully loaded (Nav.17"alloys, Harmon Kardon) & it was $42,700 new in Aug of 2005. A new one fully loaded would be so much more now with the biger engines 328 and 335, Xdrive option and an allover higher MSRP. BMW has got us on this one!!! Good luck with whatever you decide to do !!!!

You're spending over $45K on a coupe so add the CD changer from the factory and forget about Navigation - especially if you intend on leasing the vehicle. With leased vehicles, I think aftermarket installation is a big no-no.

If you are leasing the car, you are only paying for a portion of that option price over 24,30,36 months. For instance, leather as a stand alone option is 1450, of which you are only paying 565.60 over 36 months.
I'm driving a 328i with premium, auto, cold weather. It's awesome. I just got out of a 325i with nav, prem, sport, cold. You don't need the nav. Get the premium and sport.
