This is a easy situation. First BE Nice let them know that it's okay for them to visit but call first. If they can't respect that and show up un-announced again then don't answer the door, see how they like to stand out side. If they say that's rude let them know that you were nice enough to ask them to call first and that if they can't respect you then u don't have to respect them it's your place.

Gets on my nerves bigger then sh*t!!!! I always call someone before I go to there home. I keep a very clean house at all times, so I'm not afraid of that. My work day is long, by the time I get home and cook and help with homework, I am ready for bed!!!!
Weekends, I don't really mind. Everyone that knows me knows I clean house Saturday mornings so they come in the afternoon or evening when I am ready to "hang out"...lol

If it's a friend or family I'm usually cool with that. If it's an aquaintance or unknown person dropping by, then it depends on if I'm busy or not. If I am, I politely let them know that now is not a good time to visit, perhaps another time.

I usually FREAK! lol cause I never get company. I clean like a hoover vaccum when I know I'm to expect company, but always when I'm not planning it, my house looks a wreck! lol
When the unexpected show, I find myself being nervous and can't concentrate on the conversation, because I'm buzzing around trying to clean what I see that isn't right!

Depends on who the someone is. But generally I'd be gracious, and depending on my schedule, offer them a cup of coffee, chat, etc.
I don't personally like people dropping over without warning, and if they made a habit of it, I'd probably say something like, "I enjoy seeing you, but let me know when you're coming over so I can clear my schedule and spend time with you."

I don't answer my door. If they can't have the courtesy to give me a call at least a half hour before I don't have to have the courtesy to open the door and let them in.

I invite them in and enjoy their company. I have an "open door" policy for my family and friends at my house.
