How do you portray this without going over the top? Just how subtle can it be between two characters walking on an empty darkened stage with only a warm spot? What body language would you use?

its facial expression and body language, the two people are so comfortable with each other,

personal space is no longer an issue, the eyes are transfixed on each other as if the is a grand masters work of art behind them.

and touch you want to touch every little part of each other hair, cheeks, lips, hand, waist. and hold each other for ever,

if the world fell down around you you wouldn't notice a thing had changed.

I think it would resemble a pyramid turned upside down and the two standing on either end slide together to the top.
