is there a way to plug my nano into the computer and have it charge while i still listen to songs on it.... this is at my work computer so i can't just use the original files...

It charges through the USB port, if you are using a dock then it will charge through the power supply via the firewire cable.

You can listen to it while charging! No problem!

connect your iPod on your laptop. flow to the Edit tab, and click possibilities. click the iPod tab below possibilities, and uncheck the field that announces "Open itunes while this iPod is hooked up". click ok. once you fee your iPod next time, it won't open itunes.
