If I am at a friends house can I send my mail in his box or would the postal person not take it if the letter has a return address different than the address of the mailbox

YES. you can do this.

Actually, it's a good way to get your letter sent if you don't have a stamp: put the address you want it sent to as the return address. This might be illegal.

You should put YOUR address as the return address, regardless of where you send it from.

Or else how would anyone receive postcards that get mailed while people are away on vacation? If I live in Virginia, and go to Maui, and while I am there I send a postcard to Wisconsin, I still put my Virginia return address, and it gets delivered to Wisconsin just fine.

Did you even think about it?
You don't need a return address. Unless you want it back in case it cant be delivered.
Is this your first attempt at mailing a letter?
What or why would the mailman be concerned for?

The Windham Town Court, writing a full page to me expalining how I still owe $150 for speeding and marijuana possession, but how the possession charge was dropped because I only had a crumb on me, literally a crumb of green somthing. Ahahahaaa , those Hunter Mountain jerks sux a fat Butts!

No. DO NOT DO THAT. It's called MAIL FRAUD, and it's a FEDERAL OFFENSE. You could get up to 20 years in prison for that.

I do it from my parents all the time and no one says anything so I would say you're fine, it's not like your stealing mail or anything♥
