It is too hard to try to explain to a group of people that has never really been discriminated against. How could they if they are the MAJORITY? It is difficult for most white people to understand (and history books show) that they have systematically tried to oppress and dominate just every ethnic group of people on the earth.
They came to America and tried to enslave the Native Americans (after they were kind enough to these strangers to show them how to live on THEIR land). Europeans over powered them, tried to enslave them, gave them their dirty smallpox and all types of diseases they brought with them from disease and rat infested streets of Europe. When that didn't work, they went to Africa and stole millions and millions of black people. I am not EVEN about to go in to all of those atrocities!!!
Then came the great influz of Chinese to the West Coast and what did they do when it became too many? They put them in concentration camps. And lookey here.....who's next? You guessed it...the Latin community!!
Affirmative Action "rights the wrongs" that have been SYSTEMATICALLY and STANDARDLY used to oppress black people and people of color. If black people (for example) were brought here in the 1500s and were enslaved until 1865, then for 100 years after that made to go to substandard schools, live in substandard housing, have their own country (after having built it on our blood, sweat, and tears) stil finds way to victimize our civil rights, Heck Yeah..........keep that Affirmative Action for atleast another 100 years!!!!

No. ..i do not agree.. i position self assurance in equality lower than the regulation for all. Affirmative action might want to were began as well meaning, even with the indisputable fact that it does intense damage to the interior idea procedure. It sends a subliminal message that you'ree no longer equivalent in the first position. you're. you're a in a position individual, and affirmative action sends the message that you aren't any further. you've the fee of "a million", a similar as anybody else. I truly have said "affirmative action" used in beginning order--one newborn presented because the "youngest, one because the first born..the middle newborn regularly is proficient with some accomplishment or description except the order they were born. It sends the subliminal message that the middle newborn must be compensated for because they second born develop into no longer a useful as first or very last. moms and dads attempt this with loving intentions even with the indisputable fact that the subliminal message remains there, and it reeks havoc with vanity. also, did you spot the contradiction in the quote you said? How can some thing be egalitarian and preferential at the same time?

Affirmative Action had its place, and it may well be that this is the time for the so called minorities to stand up for themselves. As to your comment about "whiteys", the statistical prediction is that in about ten years, "whitey" will be a minority, behind the Black Man, and the Spanish.

Affirmative discrimination is a disgrace in a supposedly free country where people are supposed to be equal before the law.
You seem to have an obsession with skin color, and no care about the insidious and evil nature of discrimination.
I do not discriminate based on color, race, creed, etc. I DO, however, discriminate based on my perceptions of others stupidity, vapidity, vacuity, bigotry, etc. I would discriminate against you because of your vile racist attitude.

Getting rid of affirmative action will help those Blacks who have achieved middle class status (or better) not to have to deal with accusations that they got there solely due to affirmative action. We've given an entire generation a chance to catch up. It's time for the chips to fall where they may. Anti-discrimination laws should be rigorously enforced. That is the affirmative action that we all deserve.

Affirmative Action creates the acceptance of mediocrity in our society. Why is Japan kicking our *** in manufacturing? Because we accept mediocrity in performance? Why do we accept mediocrity? Because of programs like affirmative action.
Don't worry, soon enough there won't be any jobs to give to unqualified minorities, because they will all be overseas in countries that wouldn't ever institute an idea as stupid as affirmative action.

Affirmative Action is based on the Democrat belief that minorities don't have the ability to compete with whites.
More and more intelligent and successful blacks consider Affirmative Action to be degrading and insulting to blacks.

Affirmative action is insulting to those members of minorities who have made it on their own efforts and own hard work. Whatever happened to actually working for something, rather then begging the government for help or a handout....

I think affirmative action whether it's racial or sexual has an underlying message that you're not smart enough to compete against white males on an equal playing field so you have to be given a handicap.
It's an idea whose time has passed.
