Since nobody seems to be giving you any serious answers, I guess I'll give you a helping hand.
If the story is supposed to be in a humorous light then perhaps a name that makes the reader chuckle a bit or at least crack a smile when they read it.
Dr. Ignacious Brundle, Dr. Richard Cranium, Dr. F.E. Calmatter, Dr. Iota Quark, or Dr. Snarfblat or something of the like. However, it the story carries a more serious mood you should consider his name more based upon his origins than anything else. Of course it's always fun to poke fun at the germans or russians and give him a name accordingly, but is that really the direction you want to go? How about something like
Dr. Marcus Reinard or perhaps Prof. Maxwell Roth.... Let the spirit and setting of the story take your mind where it may...

The Insertialist. Have you ever had things inserted in your mind, twenty four hours a day by a man with a machine? He inserts visuals and verbals and inserts into those around you to make them beleive things untrue about you. You then live a nightmare of inserted sh*t that is all just a game to The Insertialist. The idea could be expounded upon and the name could be changed a bit, but the demon behind the mask is real.
