what role, if any do you think corporations should play in support of American public schools?

i think they should be forced to give 10% of there profits to public school. they make enough money to do that. i feel 10% is a good number because it is not enough to make them say they will have to fire people to pay that, only the top dogs would lose some pay but they are getting millions a day. I keep seeing commercials saying that business need skilled workers ones that have an education. so one would think they would want to help by giving just a little bit to boost the intelligence of there work force, by doing that they will be able to boost profits. In the end it benefits them

I agree with BPSKI. Corporations could play a huge role in helping our schools. They would have to not worry so much about their greed and and what they might get out of it and instead focus on the fact that by helping fund the schools they are creating the future work force of our nation. They would also be able to help take some of the burden off parents that are struggling to feed their families. If corporations would step up, schools could get the things they need and desire to educate our children and the parents could get some relief by not having to fund and supply the schools. Right now, it is the parents shouldering the responsibility for the funding and supplying of the schools. Because it has gotten harder on the families, the families and the schools are suffering and no one is really winning. Families are having a harder time making ends meet and kids are graduating without the real knowledge they need to be competitive in this world. We aren't creating as many inventors or innovators as we had 20 or 30 years ago and as a nation we are suffering because of it, while other nations have caught up and are surpassing us.
