Yes, you can get in trouble. BUT - you can make arangements where the SELLER of the house pays for your downpayment. Don't misunderstand your mortgage broker if this is the case. I bought a house with this arangement and it was perfectly legit.

Maybe loan fraud. Possibly a Federal crime.

If someone asks you to lie in a real estate transaction, it means they are up to no good, and might be dragging you into it.

If the broker wants you to lie about the mortgage application, they may have asked the seller or someone else to lie to you about the property.

Time for a new broker.

anything legit would be a gift of equity and you wouldnt be asking this question....to me it sounds all wrong...this is the most important transaction of your life and it doesnt sound like you are on the best start..there should be no lying...and if your are purschasing a house there should also be no money back.....if you would like to discuss please email me at becca9892003@yahoo.com..
