I am tired of always watching acts of violence on TV as the dominant form of entertainment. Isn't there a large enough demand for anything else that is a step above little house on the prairie but is a little more tamer than the usual fare. I like mysteries and thrillers but if I see one more detective rescuing one more tied up woman about to be sexually assaulted by some psycho I think I'm going to throw my TV out. And no I don't watch reality shows because I watch TV to escape and be entertained. I don't want reality.

The same reason it is full of sex. That is what people tune in to see. They would not show it otherwise. They will show whatever most people want to watch. It is unfortunate that that's the case.

Because we keep tuning in if the ratings weren't there then they would cancel the show. We can't take our eyes off of the train wreck that is about to happen.
Here's an Idea turn off you TV and find something productive to do with your time I am sure your community is waiting for your help

well, to answer your question, the reason why you see so much violence on television is because that is how the world is today. with the war and everything else going on, the only thing is violence or sex or other negitive issues. the only thing that doesn't involve violence is the car commercials for ford and chevy. sorry to burst your bubble, but there is no place to escape from violence.

So is our News Shows , reporting what happened in the world today, if Violence is OK to watch , cause it's whats happening in real life .. why is it not OK to watch Fake violence?

I also notice that "curse' or "cuss" words are over the top in every show now....Is this suppose to bring more audiences?....Every other word out of the actor's mouth is filth....What happened to "Family shows"? ....And the worse part is, you have to pay for this junk and pay to get decent reception for local channels.....This is awful!

Because they only show what the viewers want to see. And unfortunately they want to watch sex, drugs, and violence.
