Leonard Pits Jr is coming to my town tonight to speak on "Civil Liberties after 9/11". Pitts is a liberal who believes the fantasy that Islam is the religon of peace, and I'm sure he'll bring that up. I want to ask Pitts a hardball question about Islam. Any suggestions?

How are some people using Islam to support radical ideas? How is the religion being twisted to convert people to radicalization or is the United States government using this excuse as a basis for rationalization in what is really a political war?

Ask him why violence committed by Muslims is blamed on their religion, whereas violence by Christians is blamed on ??? their victims?
We can go to North Africa, where right now Christian Militias are committing atrocities, or go back to the crusades, or the witch burnings - 5 million women murdered in europe by the christian church - hitler wrote over and over and over that he acted in the name of Christ. I guess the IRA has finally stopped their religious terror, and the KKK, tho promoting hate through religion, is pretty well checked.
Or we can turn to the man who said Jesus is his favorite political philosopher, the man who approved the torture of innocent people, approved the bombing of civilian neighborhoods in Iraq, approved the secret prisons that tortured people, at least one of whom has shown to have nothing to do with terrorism - and he's out just cause he's canadian.
The Christian Man who did those things above, of course, is George Bush.
So, I think you either want to look a bit more closely at the rhetoric the warriors in this country are using/have used or just ditch your question all together.
(Hint: virtually all religions have killed in the name of their god. the religions are as peaceful or violent as the humans exploiting them. )

yes, please ask him to assist the united nations in helping in humanitarian emergence and supply whatever needed from islamic funds, for the peace needed last year and the cries gone unheard from the congo region of africa, thank you very much!!!
