Well....I'm not a house wife, but I do have a house and two kids, and I work 50+ hours a week........I usually get about 5 hours a night (I have to do all the house wife stuff before and after work...I get up at 0500 to get a head start, get home around 1800, do all the mom stuff, and finish all the house wife work after the kids are sleeping). So a good night? 5 hours, max, but I can make it on less if I have to. So no more than 5, cause if they're getting more, I want to quit my job! : )

Since I clean the house, cook all the meals, take care of four kids(All under the age of 8) pay the bills, do the laundry, pack the lunches, run the errors, do the shopping, get up with the baby when she cries in the middle of the night, help with homework, take the kids to and from school, give them their baths, take them to their after school activities, and walk the dog, I try to get at least seven hours on the weekdays, but that's usually pretty unlikely! My husband is great about taking over the children on the weekends while I sleep in. He does help a lot when he is home, but he's in the Military and travels a lot, so it's pretty much just me and the kids.

Whenever you can.
Remember, it all will be there tomorrow , the next day and the next, etc.
Its all an organized routine.
Make sure you are part of that routine. A break or a time for yourself .
So take a break. You deserve it. Never feel guilty.

3 hours at night and nap while everyone is gone. If you plan it right you can get everything that needs to be done and everything you want too do done in one day. Napping is the key!
