Aspergers Syndrome... is not neurotic. It is one of the many syndromes that fit within the spectrum of Autism, where social interaction and communication is impaired.

Leadership styles... In the military, I would agree, he'd make an excellent leader, but in a civilian setting...? Catherine, on the other hand...

Think about it... the others seem to make allowances for Grissom's behaviour.

He wasn't aware of how he was affecting others, until Catherine put him right. (Remember the first and second seasons?)

He's an extremely intelligent man, but when it comes to social skills... Remember the episode when he gave Warrick his job for the day. He never thought to tell the others, leaving Warrick the job of explaining matters to the others.

Introverted rather than having AS... ok.

Putting blood in the fridge where people store their food?

I'll leave the selection of the best answer to you.

Thanks everyone.

I would argue he is introverted rather than having Aspergers. He is the lone wolf, fiercely independant and dedicated to his role. His seemingly apathy-lacking character is probably ro the leader position he has and had- he must be unbiased and neutral at all times, so that cases get solved and he does not get too personally attached to either victims or even to his staff, in particular Sara Sidle, who is linked with Grissom throughout the shows.
But there is a hint of something else. In one episode Ecklie says "Come on Grissom, you know we're not the marrying type...", and in another episode during a case he visits a convention for 'larger' ladies, and one of them says something like "Come on. you know, gay guy, large girl...could happen" So his apparent emotionlessness is trying to hide something.
He's still lovely in any shape or form.

Not in the least. You are confusing the qualities of leadership with this syndrome. If you were to examine leadership abilities of proven military leaders, i.e. the captain of a ship, you would find that Grissom posses many of those qualities.

If he had Asperger's Syndrome, he never would have ended up in a leadership position of such a multi-faceted occupation.

It's an interesting question, but from the people with Asperger's that I have met, I would say absolutely not. He doesn't even fit the definition of mild Asperger's.

Not sure about that, I wonder if that is part of his character in the series. What I have noticed is that the actor Petersen seems to have something wrong with his feet. You very rarely see him below the waist and when you do he is very pigeon toed and seems to have difficulty walking. Anybody know more ?
