The family doctor said it's probably just stress and to have lie down and relax when it happens. This is bothering me. Has anyone else's child experienced this?

I had something like that when I was a child, but recognise it as indigestion now. Stress/anxiety has a large role to play.

You can see if you can get an indigestion rememdy that is suitable for children from your local pharmacy, and see if that helps. If it doesn't then take her back to the doctor and ask for further investgations.

I was the same when I was in year 8. I was being bullied by some older girls and my schoolwork was suffering because of it. Perhaps she's in a similar situation. Talk to her and find out if there's a problem, or encourage her to see a school counsellor. My parents implemented a good strategy that worked (after I moved schools). I was allowed to have a day off when I asked for it, within reason. This meant I never felt the need to "fake" and illness or wag school. My parents always knew where I was and I was much happier knowing that if things got a bit much I could spend a day at home.

Go to the doctor it is most likely acid reflux. Or and ulcer in her stomach lining. I had acid reflux and didn't go to the doctor and had severe stomach and esophagous pain. I kept putting it off and thinking it would get better. In two weeks I was being lifelined because of vomiting almost all the blood in my body. They have good prescription drugs for that, I would suggest prevacid just because it is aimed at stomach and esophagous acid problems so you could ask the doc about that or maybe he could suggest something better. This is a very serious problem even though it may not seem that it is now! Good luck!

First of all, I would get a second opinion. There could be an underlying problem that your family doctor is missing. If the second opinion is nearly the same, then you may have nothing to worry about. It might just be your daughter's way of getting attention, or not wanting to go to school or something.

My youngest brother used to do this when he was kid. He would compain of stomach problems, and my mom would allow him to stay home from school a lot. There wasn't anything wrong with him, he just wanted to complain, because he knew my mom would give in to him.

Just to be safe, go to another doctor!

Well I don't have any children, I'm only 15 but I've had that kind of feelings and yes I've went to doctors but they only tell me I'm stressed, but thinking it's a 7 year old you should take her to another hospital before something happens.

If your kid is having such stress that she's having gastrointestinal problems, it's time for you to find out what's going on at school. She might be having some serious bullying problems, or stress related to her studies.

Find out what's going on at school.

She might have a problem not related to school. Maybe you should talk to her and find out what's on her mind.

And if it's not resolved, then go to the doctor with her.

It's not normal for a kid to vomit several times a day.

sounds like acid reflux, or acid indegestion..this can happen if there stressed, not eating enough, or eat too much..try giving her some rolaids or tums once a day, tums are actualy good for them, because of the calcium. try changing her diet too, no citric acid for a while..and laying down probably will only make her stomach feel worse...i'm not a doctor, so use your best judgment...

Stomach pain or bellyache may be caused due to a problem in the organs in the abdominal region. The main organs in the abdomen are the digestive system consisting of the stomach, small and large intestines, the liver, the gall bladder , pancreas, the appendix and the kidney. Minor problems like gastroenteritis can cause severe pain, while fatal illnesses like cancer may cause only mild pain.
