Nope. Just lets me know that the accuser likes to categorize people, and that they are not too imaginative.

It usually depends on the context of what is being addressed and the person(s) involved.

Most people consider themselves somewhere inbetween depending on the issue and how it is being presented. There are few conservatives who are conservative on all issues and similarly so for liberals...but moderates identify more with one side or the other based on the topic- so if they consider themselves more liberal on an issue and you call them conservative, some could be offended but not nesessarily insulted...there are some people who wont care regardless.

I consider it an insult in some cases but I am not insulted. Conservative and Liberal don't mean much in political rhetoric anymore. Republicans use Conservative to mean smart and Liberal to mean stupid. Democrats are vise-verse.

I would say that generally Democrats are socially liberal and fiscally conservative and that Republicans are socially conservative and fiscally liberal. I would say that people that label the Republican economic policies of Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II as conservative prove my point.

Credit card economics is neither conservative or good for America.

Well, I'm an Independent so usually I'm amused. People love to pigeonhole. I'm conservative on some issues and moderate on most others. Occasionally I probably qualify as liberal minded, regarding same sex marriage for instance, which I support. I think both parties are so screwed up that I couldn't in good conscience support either one. So for some time I've voted on the issues most important to me and my family. That doesn't ever include voting democratic or republican across the board.

People shouldn't put anyone in a certain category just because we say one thing and it does not coincide with their way of "thinking". I've been called liberal as well as conservative, when in fact, I vote independent. It's not so much insulting when you consider the source. It's stupidity on their part as well.

I call myself a "bleeding heart conservative" Cause I care about the poor and the environment. But am pretty no-nonsense about the economy. I am also a "pro-life" voter. And feel as long as there is a holocaust going on in this country that is the overriding issue for me. If we can ever stop the slaughter of the innocents, my next big issue would be the environment.

That would be like calling a cat a dog. If someone was in the middle and was called either, that might be an insult.

I consider it a sign that someone else is playing party-line politics and that they are attempting to censure my freedom of speech...

I also consider it a sign of inferior intellect. How could someone of inferior intellect ever insult?

In general, I consider personal insults a sign that I am winning the argument...

No, conservatives is a name right wing republican gave the selves. and liberal is a name that same group gave to any one that they ran against. Looking at the national debt and who controls the spending I would say the conservatives are not were conservative.

No. I find myself middle of the road but consider myself a republican. I sometimes agree with some things on the other side but normally lean republican.
