learning to be able to critique yourself is a far more powerful tool though. and be able to question yourself, takes a lot of time and thought to be honest

If you don't LEARN from the mistakes that we make - then there is something wrong with your attitude. A baby can only learn to walk by falling down. Because people perceive that there is something wrong with making mistakes - a negative undertone has been given to the making of them. There is nothing wrong with making mistakes, and we all learn from them, if we are humble enough to ADMIT that you have made mistakes. And that is the secret. Admit you are wrong and ask for help to do it right, or discover where you went wrong.

Sure, all the time - how not to repeat it again, to find another way of doing it (now that I learnt that it doesn't work the first time around). I learnt from others' mistakes too - they are there for us to see and learn.

You learn more from your mistakes because they make a stronger impression.

All the time, in fact, if you don't learn from your mistakes, chances are, you are not human.

You learn not to do them again; and if you do, then you have no excuses because we all have a modicum of intelligence. Isn't that good enough? The famous phrase applies here: Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
