Go to the adobe site and check for "requirements". in other words, check to see if your system/windows version is capable and suitable for that Adobe program. If it is, make sure that you clean up your computer before downloading "directly from adobe's site."
Clean up your computer means to delete all of your Internet temporary files, cookies, history and cache. then do a check disk and a defrag; then restart your computer, go to the adobe site and try downloading the program. If this doesn't work then something else is the problem.

Good Luck

Try this. See if you have a copy of Adobe in the Start_All Programs Section, if you do click on it and when Adobe probably 6.0 opens go to Help. You should see Updates listed, click on it. Checking or updates will appear in a dialog box and then the next version which is Adobe 7.0 should appear with other available updates. This way you will only install what is needed to upgrade Adobe. If that does not work, uninstall any versions you do have and download and save it first, then run the installation. If this does not work and you no longer have a version you can always use system restore to change your computer back to the state it was in when you first started it. I hope this helps.

Are you downloading from Adobe website? If not I would suggest to download from their website. If yes, then clear cache and history from the Internet Browser and try again

that sounds like you are trying to install it from the internet rather than downloading it first before you install it.

Click SAVE when you are prompted to at the website.
