You're relationship with your mom must be pretty bad if you can't find a way to ask her advice about what you should do for a tank top type bra. Any other older women in the family. Friends at school? Sorry. Good luck.
A passing thought, if you didn't wear a bra a few times around home would she make you get one?

Tell her when you go to town next, you need to go shopping for some essentials. If she asks what essentials, explain to her that you are 14, and therefore in a verry important transition, and need apropriate accomidations. Such as bras, since you are going to need new ones fairly frequently, because of the changing size. If she doesn't ask and doesn't want to know, you can go to town with the next person that is going, and get the bra yourself. You can also have most places give you a fitting. These things are a natural part of life. If she asks you can also tell her that since you are getting older, you need to be able to shop on your own more to incourage self-reliance, for future, when you get your own place and your mother will no longer be there to guide you through everything. Good luck!
(just to let you know, I am not an old lady, if that makes any difference to you. I went through some of the same issues a few years back. (I am 16.) Just try to be polite and don't get flustered, because you need to show that you are responsable enough to do these things. ) Best wishes, have fun!

As a woman in my 30s I can say that finding a well-fitting bra can be tricky. Your mom likely has some experience with this. I know you say that you are not very close but maybe you can tell her that your bras do not fit and you would like her help to get a new one.
Now that you are 14, you are much more independent and it is probably hard on your relationship with your mom but she may be happy to help you. Moms like to be needed sometimes. I wasn't very close to my mom until I had a child and then I found her advice and support very helpful. It gave us something in common.
Good luck.

ask her to go shopping with you, and when you get to the intimates department, pick up the type of bra you like and say something about how much you like that bra and you could use a new one. Say this with every bra in the style you like, and trust me, she will get the message. If she has a problem with that style I'm sure it will come out.

in all honesty i think you should wait. you're only 14 so most likely you will outgrow all the bras you get at this stage in the game. but if you feel like you need it just be honest with your mom and say "mom i want a better bra" shes a woman too so she would understand. she was young once too ya know.

"Mom, can you take me to the store to get a bra?" You are always going to find it hard to talk about these things unless you make an attempt. The more you do something the easier it gets.

Just go to her and ask her, she is your mother, she will be glad you came to her. I don't think you have to be close to her for something like that. This is something you need, and I am sure she will be happy to take you. Every girl needs several bras, right, we need options. Don't be nervous, it's not like you are asking for something out of line.

Say mom, we need to go shopping. And she'll say for what, and you tell her you need to go get more bras that give you more support. You just have to be straight up with that kind of stuff.
