Everytime we get into an argument, instead of my boyfriend talking out his problem with me he gives me the silent treatment. Meaning he'll turn his phone off and make it so I cant find him. Then he leave it off for about 3-5 days. Then he'll call me and when im all crying and hurt, asking why he did it to me, he'll say its because I made him mad.
The first time it happened. I wanted sex and he had to leave so I said its fine, I'll call my female friend to come and suppress my sexual appetite. After that he didnt call for 5 days. when i asked him why he said because i had too many obligations. what obligations? he said HER.
Now im getting the silent treatment again, what do i do? why do men do that? is it becuase a loss of control and they wanna gain it back or what?

hello there, i find "the silent treatment" very frustrating too, i have just asked my partner to leave the house, it was really scary but it has forced us to communicate, which will be better in the long run. When i started this process i didn't know how it was going to turn out all i knew was that i didnt want to live in the "silence"......i am so glad i found the courage to do what i knew i needed to do a long time ago, we are planning on going out on a date next week and we have been talking alot, we have been together for 5 years and i tell ya if i didnt take this action we would of split up over the next 6 months i have no doubt in my mind. Please be mindful i am only sharing my experience in this area i am not suggesting u do the same, good luck tho in whatever u do decide to do!

That's easy. He told you why. He was mad. He needs a cooling off period. Time away from what made him angry so that he can think. It's not a guy thing. It's a people thing.
Having sex with your girlfriend is definitely cheating on him. So, I don't know what to tell you. Give him space. Give yourself space. That's okay. Having sex with someone else is not okay.

That is easy, being a guy and all .OK women can think with both sides of their brain at the same time LOGICLY/EMOTIONALLY. nOW MEN CAN ONLY THINK ON ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER. true story And when Im mad or otherwise emotionally clusterfucked I cant refrance the logical to win the argument so....YOU HAVE REACHED A NUMBER THAT HAS BEEN TEMPERARILY DICONECTED!

no its not from a loss of controll, did you see what you just wrote? you were spiteful, and told him that you were going to call someone else to get your freak on, and he had to leave, shi* i'd stop calling all together. you have to understand, he obviously needed time to cool down. so i would stop being so vindictive, (dont say stuff that you know is going to piss him off) and he might call you sooner after an arguement
