Here are a couple of resources for you.
The first is a link to a free template of a rent receipt.
The second is a link to a receipt template from Microsoft. It's not a rent receipt but you can edit it and substitute Rent for Sales and Tenant for Customer, etc. I like it because it has stubs. If you don't have MS Word, you can open it with WordPad but you'll have to play around with it.
Make sure you keep a copy for your records and that you include the tenant's name, the full address of the premises, the month and year the payment represents. This is essential in order to avoid any problems.

TYPE "LANLORD" "RENT RECEIPTS" or "REAL ESTATE" in the search engine using Microsoft Word, under the HELP tab; it will give you several options and templates to choose from
