Is it only perceived as being worst because of the homosexuality factor?

Is there underlying discrimination here? What are your thoughts?

No, it's percieved as worse because he was going after CHILDREN!

Clinton got a BJ from an ADULT, Foley, was having cybersex with a CHILD!

Regardless of his sexual orientation, he was going for kids. That makes it a HELLUVA lot worse!

Pedophilia has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GENDER OF THE VICTIM or the sexual orientation of the molester. Most pedophiles identify as heterosexual, Foley is a minority, an openly gay pedophile. The problem isn't the GLBT community focusing on the Gay issue, it's the MEDIA who's pushing that envelope and only encouraging the notion that all gays are pedophiles and all pedophiles are gay!

More to the point; Foley, regardless of sexual orientation is a pedophile! End of story!

I wish the MEDIA would stop focusing on his ADULT SEXUAL ORIENTATION because it has NOTHING to do with his being a pedophile! Nothing.

It has nothing to do with the homosexuality factor and EVERYTHING to do with the underage factor. Clinton's affair was with a consenting ADULT while Foley's were with teenagers.
Besides the fact that Foley just spent years as head of a committee in which he stated only the "most strict" of punishments for sexual predators on children. He is a hypocrite and a danger to children.

No, Foley's is worse because it went on for 10 years and noone said anything to him about his flirting with underaged boys. He was the head of a committee that wrote legislation to protect children from pedophiles. Foley got caught having sexual conversations with boys under the age of 18. Additionally he left a vote on the House of Representatives floor to have cybersex with a teen boy.

That's why it's worse than Clinton's, at least he had sense to make out with a person who was a legal adult.

Foley's is much much worse because he went after minors. This is a problem called hebophilia- desiring teenagers. Teens don't know yet what they want in life. It's very disturbing for any teen gay or straight to be hit on by a 50 something year old. Foley's acts totally go into the realm of molesting minors.

Clinton cheated on his wife with a consenting adult, Foley went after a minor. The two are in no way comparable, it's the age not the gender that makes this one a crime. Just for the record, though, pedophiles go for pre-pubescent children, a love of post-pubescent children is called ephebephilia.

Foley's was worse, not because of the homosexual factor, but because minors were involved, and most likely his attention was not wanted by the boys. At least with Clinton & Monica, they were both consenting adults.

Worse. Foley and Clinton are not comparable. Foley approached individuals who are considered under age in US society. Clinton approached of age adults. Gender doesn't matter. Plus Foley's public statements about sexual predators contradict what he actually did.

Yes it's worse than Clinton's. Clinton was having an affair with an adult, Foley is messing with people's children!

No. It is worse because of the age factor.

Monica was an adult.

Foley's boys aren't.

The republican party is still calling this "naughty emails."

Even though the people who get caught doing exactly the same thing on Dateline NBC get arrested for it.

I don't think anybody is making a bigger deal out of this than the Clinton fiasco. They should be making a MUCH bigger deal then they are.

Foley's pedophilia is much worse, since it involves children, and it is compounded by the fact that the Republican leadership put him in charge of legislation to protect children from pedophiles.

Talk about a case of putting the fox in charge of the chicken coop!
