Your opening paragraph has to include everything you are planning to talk about in brief form, then you have to elaborate on each item in a new paragraph, and finally have a closing statement/paragraph. Each professor has their own way of wanting the essay written, so check with your professor.

Do not have more than six sentences per paragraph. Use correct grammar. Be clear and to the point. Do not use run-on sentences; be terse, pithy and succinct.
