The only way it might work is if you both want it too, you go to a marriage counselor(not a clergy member) and you are both willing to take heed with the counselors recommendations.

marriage counseling only works if both of you are willing and able to go to it, commit to it, be sure that both will be able to forgive each other for whatever it was comminted that made you get to the point that you are at. you both need to communicated more with each other and blaming each other for your problems. if you and your partner are not willing to make these kinds of scaraficing, marriage counseling will not work. it will just make an unhappy marriage last a little longer and eventually you will end up in the same conclusion: divorce.

I'm sorry but I personally don't think it works. Counselling is a very good time for women look like they are victims. If you guys love each other, then discuss your concerns amongst each other and be "understanding." Otherwise, you can make your soon-to-be husband pay for counselling sessions that won't amount to nothing

I (we ) did the counseling thing. It only works if you honestly want to resolve the issues that have taken you there in the first place. My husband fooled me into thinking that the counseling experience had helped him, and that he had changed but it only lasted long enough for me to start building my trust in him again. As soon as it became obvious that i was relaxing and trusting him more, he flippe the script again. Try it though, if you are BOTH both honest, openminded, and willing it can work for you. Good luck.

I have had it and it has worked for about a year. Keep one thing in mind. You have to let everything out, if you do not it will come back to haunt you. My wife held one thing back, I knew about it but she did not bring it up in counseling. So now I have doubts that she really wanted to work on the marriage, but only wanted to keep me because she is scared to death living alone. And by the way that one thing she held back is returning, so makes me wonder. Let it all out...

Not personally but I know a couple who did. It worked for them. You talk about what your issues are and the counselor gives you new ways to communicate. You owe it to your marriage to try it before you divorce. It cant hurt and it just might help.
